About
Math and art are two things that are not typically associated with each other, however, when we look at some geometric designs we can see there are many similarities. Precise lines and swirling spirographs can all come together to make intricate designs. These same patterns can also be generated by equations. My artwork is inspired by these equations and how they occur in nature. Crystals always arrange their atoms in certain ways resulting in beautiful and unique formations. Shells naturally form consistent spirals. Bees build hives made of hexagons that are practically identical to one another. These are examples of math in nature that I enjoy exploring. The purpose of my art is to draw attention to these hidden details in nature. Living on a planet as fascinating as our own is what inspires me to create.
I’ve have the pleasure of working with Cerulea on multiple projects. I’ve also commissioned several 3D printed props over the last four years, and the quality is always outstanding. She is friendly, professional, and executed every project with remarkable detail and speed. Always willing to collaborate, Cerulea shares creative ideas and knowledge as reliable team mate or event guest. Though my years as an artist, I am pressed to name another artist as collaborative, skilled and humble as Cerulea.
